About

Nestled deep in the foothills below Mt Baw Baw on the banks of the Western Tyers River, Ingrams Campground offers visitors a unique camping experience in a remote forest setting. There are toilets, picnic shelters, as well as multiple firepits and picnic tables. It also boasts three river platforms, perfect for fishing or river access, and a mini football oval, complete with goal posts, ready for a game of kick-to-kick.

Camping

This family-friendly campground contains 17 campsites, suitable for both tent and vehicle-based camping. The campground occupies the site of the former Western Tyers settlement, which once housed the Ingrams sawmill. It is not suitable for caravans and camper trailers due to access restrictions.

Getting there

Ingrams is only accessible by 4WD, with low-range recommended for the steep access track (15km / 25min). From Erica, head south along the Moe-Walhalla Road for 2.4km before making a right turn off the bitumen and onto Telbit Road (gravel road). Follow Telbit Road for 6.5km and veer right onto Buckles Road at the Tyers Junction Picnic Area - This is a great place to stop, get your first look at the Tyers River, and consider airing down your tyres ready for the steep climb and descent ahead. Continue along Buckles Road a short distance, crossing over the Eastern Tyers River, and veer onto Monettes Mill Road where you will cross over the Tyers River and turn right onto Buckles Spur Road. Follow Buckles Spur Road for 1.8km before vearing left onto Buckles Spur Jeep Track (seasonally closed). Follow for 1.1km then vear left onto Pitmans Creek Track. Keep left and follow Pitmans Creek Track down to Ingrams Campground. Please note that access into Ingrams Campground is subject to seasonal road closure - Roads close on Thursday after ANZAC Day and re-open on the last Thursday before Christmas, ready for Summer.
